Somerset Art Weeks Festival 2019

September 21 @ 11:00 - October 6 @ 17:00

Clayhill Arts is proudly hosting artists from the SAW Artist Development Programme this year and hosting Pennie Elfick, who has been awarded an Artist Development Bursary to explore new sculptural work responding to the environment, some of which will be showing alongside her paintings. Megan Wakelam and Emma Housley have received Creative Pathways Bursaries and both artists are inspired by landscape. Megan works site-specifically, creating paintings that encapsulate a sense of journey and atmosphere using hand-made eco-pigments. Emma explores the experience of being immersed in the skies and fields of Somerset and will present vivid abstract paintings reflecting on her time in residency at Clayhill.

Live Welding Demonstration: Friday 4th October, 12-4pm

Drop in Demonstration with Pennie Elfick and AIP Welding Supplies. Using found objects from around Clayhill Arts, Pennie will be constructing new sculptural forms with the assistance of AIP Welding Supplies, to add to her exhibition of works on show. Welding Masks will be provided to all visitors.
