Social Distancing Guidelines

Using the guidance from the Government and HSE we have put measures in place to ensure your safety whilst studying and staying with us here at Clayhill Arts.

Courses

All practical courses as part of our autumn 2020 programme have been limited in participant numbers and a 2m distancing will be put in place between each person using a variety of floor markings and room layouts.

The majority of our courses will be taking place outside, but for those taking place indoors we will be asking all tutors to wear a face shield and will be providing masks for all visitors. [You are of course welcome to bring your own]. We will also be providing a live feed video of any detailed demonstrations so that you can view this from your workspace, without the need to cluster around the tutor.

We understand that the use of masks may impact the experience of the workshop and will do everything possible to make the experience comfortable and safe as possible. We want to ensure you there will be a 2m distance at all times for any indoor activities and you will have your own equipment as necessary to take part in the workshops, without having to share resources.

Ventilation

Good ventilation can help reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus, so we will be increasing ventilation throughout the building by opening doors and windows at regular intervals.

Communal Facilities

We have two toilets on site here at Clayhill and are implementing a staggered in and out policy. We have updated our already high standard cleaning regime and will be regularly sanitising the surfaces to ensure a clean and safe environment for all. Hand sanitizer will be available in both toilets as well as additional sanitizing stations, which we encourage you to use throughout your stay with us.

Should you decide to stay overnight with us, you will have access to your own toilet facilities throughout your stay and be provided with hand sanitizer in your room.

All communal doorways will be opened for you during break times, to reduce your need to touch handles or surfaces.

Catering and Refreshments

Ordinarily, a communal refreshment area would be available to you throughout the day, but we will now be taking orders for teas and coffees which will be made by Clayhill staff and served to you via a tray.

All food will be prepared on site and served by staff using appropriate PPE to keep you safe and secure

The communal dining table will be spaced with every other chair taken out (reducing the layout from 20 – 12) to ensure a safe distance from each participant. All food will be brought to you by Clayhill staff and a place set for you with your name. We ask that you stagger your time alighting from your space to allow safe movement for all participants.

Track and Trace

We require everyone visiting us to leave their contact details, which we will keep on file and secure for 30 days. We will contact you a week after visiting us to check how you are and alert relevant authorities should you feel unwell after you return home.

If you do feel unwell you will be asked to self-isolate and requested to book a test by phoning 119 or visiting nhs.uk/coronavirus
